![]() There is nothing considered "bad" about this difficulty, asides from seeming too easy for some players (and damage caused by walking onto grenades) and lowering the score the player will receive. This is also a great difficulty setting to play on if the player just wants to lay waste to Mental's forces, and not have the threat of death to worry about. This is also the best setting when trying to explore and find all the secrets. It can be also played for various testing purposes (or speedrun playthroughs, especially in Serious Sam 2 as of Update 2.90 with dual-wielded XPM元0 Rocket Launchers) as it is very difficult to be killed on this difficulty, ammunition is more plentiful, and enemies are weaker in general. This difficulty fits newcomers of the Serious Sam series, FPS-genre games, or casual players. This enemy is extremely hard to kill, and will instantly kill the player if it touches them. Furthermore, after completing Nightmare Caves, the player will end up on an island that they cannot escape from and the Tourist eater will appear and chase after the player. The player can also damage themselves, unlike other games. ![]() Certain quests and challenges will be unavailable whilst playing on this difficulty. In Serious Sam: Tormental, Tourist difficulty has been altered. Usually, this means that larger battles have fewer different types of enemies attacking and some smaller ambushes may be missing altogether. In the First Encounter and the Second Encounter, the number of enemies is also smaller. For example, Minor Bio-mechanoids and Arachnoids will shoot a smaller burst of lasers/bullets at the player, compared to higher difficulties. Some of the enemy behavior is also affected. Enemies starting from Serious Sam: The Second Encounter also have half the health than they do on Normal difficulty. However, grenades and cannonballs can still damage the player if the player walks right into them and triggers their detonation. There is no self-damage, so the player cannot damage themselves with rockets, C4, or other explosive weaponry. The player is also given twice the amount of ammunition compared to normal and hard difficulty. ![]() A player can even take a stomp from Ugh-Zan III and survive, if at full health and armor. This makes it actually difficult to die on this difficulty setting. On top of that, enemies deal much less damage than on any other difficulty level. This also means the maximum health and armor allowed is 300. In most games, Tourist allows the player to start with 200 health, and if damaged, they will slowly regenerate 1 health point until it's 200 again (100 for Serious Sam 2 and Serious Sam: Xbox). It doesn't exist in Test 1, but it's replaced by Easy difficulty in Serious Sam: Xbox. Tourist difficulty is the first (and easiest) level of difficulty in all Serious Sam games it has appeared in.
